The Comox Valley is Vancouver Island’s east coast gem. Surrounded by nature, the Valley provides an oasis for those seeking a relaxed pace and increased quality of life.

This thriving, art-focused community offers award-winning restaurants, boutiques, and experiences for both locals and visitors alike. Candor Developments is passionate about the Comox Valley and here are a few reasons why:

The Comox Valley hosts an abundance of mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, and forests. No matter your age, it’s the perfect outdoor playground for any nature enthusiast. Mount Washington offers year-round adventures that include world-class mountain biking in the summer and excellent snow in the winter for riders of all types. Local (and rarely crowded) swimming holes are also abundant. Dive into the cool, clear waters at Nymph falls or float down the Puntledge river rapids. More of a land person? Take a walk along one of the many beautiful beaches or local forest trails. The things to do outside are endless and there’s truly something for everyone in this nature-filled haven.

Teeming with community events, organized sports teams, public parks, friendly people, and interesting venues to explore, there’s no shortage of good reasons to socialize. A perfect afternoon could easily include a stroll down 5th Street to check out the amazing boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops. Another great way to support local is by shopping at the Farmer’s Market every Saturday and buying direct from Comox Valley farmers. There’s an exceptional amount of great music that tours through the Comox Valley throughout the year. Similarly, the Valley is host to a handful of curated festivals, these include: the Vancouver Island Music Festival, Cumberland Wild, The Filberg Music and Arts Festival, and The Comox Valley Food and Wine Festival.

Enjoying good food and drinks with friends and family is time well spent. We, at Candor Developments, appreciate that the Valley has an array of places to satisfy taste buds. Everything from upscale dining, craft breweries, ethnic restaurants, and casual classics.

The Valley’s gorgeous natural surroundings hold more perks to make life easier. There’s an international airport (YQQ) with multiple direct flights to Vancouver International Airport, direct floatplane rides from downtown Comox to downtown Vancouver and easy access to BC ferries. It’s also only a 2.5 hour drive to BC’s capital, Victoria, and 3 hours to surf haven, Tofino. If convenience is key, the Comox Valley’s location is the ideal candidate for a beautiful life on Vancouver Island.

The Candor Developments team is grateful to call this wonderful place home.

Co-Founders Isaac Bale and Clayton Frank were both born and raised in the Comox Valley. They spent their childhoods enjoying the incredible surroundings and playing active roles in their community. As new home builders in the Comox Valley, they both have a great sense of pride in their work. They build beautiful homes with integrity, passion and care.
