To anyone looking for a contractor to build them a home in
the Comox Valley we can’t recommend Clayton and Isaac with Candor Developments enough.
First our backstory,
In 2016 we lived in Fort McMurray. The wildfires that went through the city that summer resulted in us loosing our home there. During the following rebuild we learned how frustrating and stressful construction can be. It was a long drawn out process with terrible tradesmen and craftsmanship, and by the time the house was completed we had we decided to move our family back to the Comox Valley. Our childhood home and a beautiful place to raise a family.
We had the task of finding a builder we could trust and building our second home in 2 years we didn’t want to have
the same experience we had previously.
After a meeting a few contractors and talking to many more we decided on Clayton and Isaac with Candor Developments. We had Candor Developments design and build us a small house at 960 sq.ft. and we are extremely happy with the result. They took the time to make sure our plan was exactly what we wanted before going ahead with a build which included multiple revisions, and meetings going back and forth until it was finally nailed down. They were never pushy and always returned phone calls or texts no matter the hour, with a pleasant friendly vibe to all of our dealings. Any issues that arose during the build were dealt with quickly, generally the same day. The crew that worked on our house was top notch they were always welcoming when we would arrive onsite to check in on progress or day dream about being in our home.
Our vision of the home we wanted came out even better than expected. We gave the guys at Candor a style we wanted and then let them have artistic freedom to produce a beautiful product and they did not disappoint. The timber frame design they came up with is beautiful and timeless and really makes the look of the house.
Our project came in exactly on budget and Candor ended
up getting us into our home about a month ahead of
schedule which if you have built before is a very unexpected welcome experience.
After this experience we will be using Candor Developments again in the future and would honestly recommend them to anyone considering a custom build in the Comox Valley area. Thanks for everything guys!”
